The Institute of Children’s Literature
and Children’s Writer Newsletter takes your privacy and security very
seriously. We are also very aware of the threats to your privacy and security on
the Internet. We appreciate and value your confidence in us and we will work
steadfastly to maintain your trust by always providing a safe and secure web
site where you can visit us.
Like almost all web sites, ours automatically tracks some general, but not personal, information about where people go on our site. That tracking helps us improve the design and content of our site to provide better information and service. In order to process your information requests and orders, if any, we require your postal and email addresses, and if you pay online, your credit card number and expiration information. We use the latest technology to encrypt your personal information so you can send it to us over the Internet with complete security, knowing that we will be the only ones able to read your information. Then we transfer your information and store it on our servers, on our premises and under our direct control, that are not accessible from the Internet or by any outside parties of any kind. We will never "rent" or "sell" or "loan" your email address to another publisher, school, company, or individual. Any email you receive from us will come from our servers and be identified as emanating from us. As a friend of Children’s Writer, you may be given the opportunity to subscribe to our free email newsletters and other informative services we provide. You can change your preferences for receiving such services by simply notifying us by email to OrderServices@ChildrensWriter.com or by calling toll-free to 1-800-243-9645. On some pages you can submit information about another person to whom you want to send a gift book or newsletter subscription. This information will be treated in accordance with all the provisions of this privacy policy. If you or your gift recipient ever wants to review or change any of this information, please call us toll-free at 1-800-243-9645. Because you have exhibited trust in us, we promise that we will keep you informed about any changes to our privacy policy, by posting any proposed changes to both our home pages and to this page at least 30-days in advance, and/or by emailing you notice of any proposed changes at least 14 days in advance. Any such notice will provide for you to opt in or opt out of any changed usage of your information. We do not, however, anticipate making any such changes. We do not offer our courses or products to anyone under the age of 14, and to people age 14-17 only with their parents’ consent. and content appropriate for writers’ chat rooms. Violations of this code of
